The Redel Foundation
The Redel Foundation provides targeted support for long-term aid projects around the world.
With an administrative expense ratio of less than 1%, it is one of the most effectively run charitable foundations in Germany.
In accordance with the foundation charter, the payout of dividends to private individuals is expressly forbidden.
Succession concepts, private benefits or exertion of third-party influence over decisions made by the foundation by those outside the appointed board of management, as is often the case in family foundations, does not apply to the Redel Foundation.
This means that more than 99% of the funds are channelled exclusively into charitable projects that aim to help those who have been affected by disaster.
The Redel Foundation was established in 1988 “for the love of helping people”, by the family of the Cesra Arzneimittel GmbH pharmaceutical company founder. Setting up the foundation involved transferring Cesra GmbH company revenue to the Redel Foundation. The Redel Foundation owns Cesra Arzneimittel GmbH.
Cesra – which includes company subsidiary ocean pharma – manufactures phytopharmaceutical medicines and medical cosmetics, highly compatible products with effective healing and protection properties. All products are made from natural active ingredients and components that harness the self-healing powers of nature.
A large share of the Cesra company revenue is channelled directly into projects supported by the Redel Foundation.
